Amazon Launches Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio in India With Dolby Atmos, 3x More Bass and Smarter Alexa Features
Amazon has launched the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio in India, bringing upgraded audio, Dolby Atmos support, built-in smart home hubs, and new Omnisense automation features. Prices start at ₹10,999.
Amazon has expanded its smart speaker portfolio in India with the launch of the new Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio, bringing premium audio capabilities, enhanced smart home controls, and faster Alexa performance to Indian consumers. The new devices are powered by Amazon’s custom AZ3 silicon and introduce Omnisense technology, designed to enable more intelligent and proactive smart home experiences.
The Echo Dot Max, positioned as Amazon’s most advanced Echo Dot yet, promises nearly three times more bass than the Echo Dot (5th Gen) thanks to a redesigned two-way speaker system featuring a high-excursion woofer and custom tweeter. Amazon says the device also benefits from a larger internal acoustic chamber, resulting in richer and more room-filling sound.
Meanwhile, the new Echo Studio delivers immersive spatial audio with Dolby Atmos support. It combines a powerful woofer with three strategically placed full-range drivers and automatically adapts audio output to the room environment. The speaker also debuts a more compact spherical design while retaining acoustic transparency through its new fabric finish.
Both devices come with Alexa built-in, allowing users to stream music, manage compatible smart home devices, create shopping lists, check the weather, set reminders, and perform other voice-controlled tasks. The speakers support popular streaming services including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, and Audible.
A major highlight is Amazon’s new Omnisense platform, which combines audio, ultrasound, Wi-Fi radar, accelerometers, and temperature sensors to detect presence and motion in a room. This enables automated smart home routines, such as switching lights or appliances on and off based on occupancy. Both speakers also feature built-in smart home hubs with support for Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, Matter, and Bluetooth connectivity. Echo Dot Max is the first Echo Dot model to include a built-in smart home hub.
Amazon says the custom AZ3 chip in Echo Dot Max and the more advanced AZ3 Pro chip in Echo Studio improve wake-word detection performance by nearly 50 percent while enabling faster Alexa responses and better conversational interactions.
The new speakers can also be paired with compatible Fire TV devices to create an Alexa Home Theater setup, supporting up to five Echo speakers for a surround sound experience.
In terms of pricing, the Echo Dot Max is available in Graphite, Amethyst, and Glacier White colour options at ₹10,999, while the Echo Studio is priced at ₹23,999 and comes in Graphite and Glacier White finishes. Both devices are now available through Amazon India and Flipkart.
