GIGABYTE Expands DDR5 Memory Support With CXSH (CXMT) Compatibility Amid Supply Constraints

GIGABYTE has added support for CXSH (CXMT)-based DDR5 memory across its AMD and Intel motherboard lineup, expanding compatibility as the DDR5 market faces supply shortages and higher prices.

GIGABYTE has expanded DDR5 memory compatibility across its motherboard lineup by adding support for CXSH (CXMT)-based memory modules. The update comes as the memory industry continues to face supply shortages and rising DDR5 prices, giving PC builders and enthusiasts more flexibility when choosing memory for new systems and upgrades.

The company said its latest BIOS optimizations enable AMD AM5 800- and 600-series motherboards to support CXSH (CXMT)-based DDR5 memory at speeds of up to 8200MT/s. On Intel platforms, 800- and 700-series motherboards already support the memory modules out of the box without requiring a BIOS update.

The expanded support follows AMD’s AGESA 1.3.0.1c firmware release and incorporates GIGABYTE’s memory optimization technologies. According to the company, AM5 motherboards can now support both 16Gb and 24Gb density CXSH (CXMT) DDR5 memory modules while maintaining stable operation at speeds of up to 8200MT/s, addressing previous compatibility limitations on the platform.

GIGABYTE said the update arrives at a time when the DDR5 market is experiencing constrained supply and higher prices. By adding support for CXSH (CXMT)-based memory, the company aims to provide users with an additional sourcing option while expanding compatibility across its motherboard portfolio.

Updated BIOS versions for AMD 800- and 600-series motherboards are now available through GIGABYTE’s product support pages. Intel 800- and 700-series motherboards already include CXSH (CXMT) memory support in their current shipping BIOS versions, the company said.
