Google has launched the Pixel 11 Pro Fold with the new Tensor G6 chip, a thinner and more durable design, brighter displays, upgraded cameras with up to 30x Super Zoom, faster charging and deeper Gemini AI integration.

Google has launched the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, its latest and most advanced foldable smartphone. The new model brings a thinner and lighter design, improved durability, a new camera system, Google's Tensor G6 processor and deeper Gemini-powered features.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is now available for pre-order, with sales set to begin on August 20. Google has introduced the phone in Obsidian and Olive colour options.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold Gets Thinner and Lighter Design

Compared with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, the new Pixel 11 Pro Fold is nearly 10 percent lighter and around 1mm thinner. Google has also reduced the bezels for a more streamlined look.

One of the most noticeable additions is the new HiLight system integrated into the camera bar. It uses LEDs around the camera flash to provide glanceable notifications. For example, users can see colour-coded lighting for calls from favourite contacts or when Gemini is being used hands-free. Google says additional notification capabilities are planned for the system.

Three Times More Durable

Durability is another major focus of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

The phone retains an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and features a new glass-fibre composite back cover. It also gets a new gearless hinge designed to better protect the inner display.

Google claims the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is three times more durable than the previous-generation model based on its internal testing. The inner display also gets improved crease performance, while the outer display uses ceramic cover glass.

Both displays are now rated to reach up to 3,600 nits, making them 20 percent brighter than those on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, according to Google.

Tensor G6 and 16GB RAM

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is powered by Google's new Tensor G6 custom processor and comes with 16GB of RAM.

The hardware is designed around Google's Gemini Intelligence features, with the foldable form factor enabling additional multitasking and AI experiences across its two displays. Users can continue to use features such as Split Screen, Drag and Drop and Instant View.

Google has also optimised app bubbles for the larger unfolded display, allowing users to keep frequently used applications accessible while working in another app.

Sign-to-Text Comes to Pixel Fold

One of the more notable accessibility features is sign-to-text translation.

Developed in partnership with the Deaf community, the feature uses the front-facing camera to recognise American Sign Language and display translations on the outer screen. Google says the feature works with both one-handed and two-handed signing and integrates with Live Transcribe and Gboard.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold also gets improved Circle to Search integration with Pixel Camera, along with proactive assistance features available across the Pixel 11 series.

New 48-Megapixel Main Camera

For photography, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold gets a new 48-megapixel main camera alongside a telephoto camera offering up to 30x Super Zoom.

Google is also bringing new Pixel 11-series camera features such as Magic Capture and Camera Looks. Magic Capture is designed to help capture the right moment when subjects are moving, while Camera Looks offers customisable visual styles for photos.

Faster Charging and 24-Hour Battery

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold supports 30W wired charging, with Google claiming the phone can reach 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes.

Wireless charging has also been upgraded, with support for up to 25W Qi2.2. Google says this is 20 percent faster than the previous-generation Fold. Battery life is rated at more than 24 hours, although actual usage will vary depending on features and usage patterns.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold Availability**

The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold is available for pre-order now in the US, with the phone scheduled to hit shelves on August 20.

Google has not specified India pricing in its announcement.
