Motorola has expanded its premium smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the new Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, a feature-packed flagship aimed at users seeking top-tier photography, AI-powered experiences, and premium design without crossing the ultra-premium price segment. The smartphone debuts at an effective starting price of ₹44,999 and will go on sale from June 11 via Flipkart, Motorola India, and leading retail stores.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is headlined by a Quad 50MP Pro-Grade Camera System, featuring a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto camera capable of 50x Super Zoom Pro, a 50MP ultra-wide and macro vision camera, and a 50MP autofocus selfie shooter. Motorola says the camera system leverages motoAI for improved low-light photography, colour accuracy, dynamic range, and faster shutter response. The device also supports 4K 60fps video recording across all cameras.

On the design front, Motorola is introducing what it calls “Collections by Motorola”, offering differentiated finishes including Satin-Luxe, Sculpted Wood, and Twill Inspired textures. The smartphone is available in Pantone-curated colours such as Zinfandel, Chicory Coffee, and Stormy Sea, giving it a distinct premium appearance.

The handset sports a 6.8-inch Super HD+ Extreme AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, HDR10+ certification, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, Pantone validation, and an impressive peak brightness of 5,200 nits. The quad-curved panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and offers a 96.8 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset, paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. Motorola claims the processor delivers significant improvements in CPU, GPU, and AI performance while a large 4,600mm² vapour chamber helps maintain thermal efficiency during gaming and demanding workloads.

A major highlight of the Edge 70 Pro+ is its 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola claims can provide up to 51 hours of battery life. Charging duties are handled by 90W TurboPower fast charging and 15W wireless charging support.

The smartphone also brings Motorola’s latest moto ai 2.0 suite, featuring tools such as Next Move contextual suggestions, AI Image Studio, Playlist Studio, Recall, Remember This, and integration with multiple AI assistants including Moto AI, Gemini, Copilot, and Perplexity. The device runs Android 16-based Hello UI and is promised to receive three OS upgrades alongside five years of security updates.

For durability, the Edge 70 Pro+ carries IP68 and IP69 ratings along with MIL-STD-810H certification, offering protection against water, dust, drops, and extreme environmental conditions. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support round out the multimedia experience.

Commenting on the launch, T.M. Narasimhan, Managing Director, Motorola India, said the company aims to combine premium craftsmanship, intelligent experiences, and meaningful innovation in a device that delivers a true flagship experience without compromise.
