Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the all-new Hilux in India, introducing a refreshed version of its iconic lifestyle pickup with updated styling, new technology features, enhanced comfort, and improved off-road capability. Prices start at Rs. 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 4X2 GX AT variant, while bookings opened on July 28 with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the second week of August.
The latest Hilux adopts Toyota’s new “Cyber Sumo” design language, featuring a redesigned front fascia with a wider grille, sculpted bonnet, new LED headlamps with welcome function, LED fog lamps, updated alloy wheels, and a more muscular stance. The pickup is designed around Toyota’s “Tough & Agile” philosophy, aiming to combine rugged durability with a more premium appearance.
Powering the new Hilux is Toyota’s familiar 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine, producing 204 PS (150 kW) and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The pickup also retains its 80-litre fuel tank, making it suitable for long-distance touring and commercial use alike.
Toyota continues to position the Hilux as a capable off-road vehicle, equipping it with a 4WD system featuring High (H4) and Low (L4) modes, an Electronic Differential Lock, Downhill Assist Control (DAC), and a suspension setup comprising double wishbones at the front and leaf springs at the rear for improved stability across challenging terrain.
Inside, the cabin receives a notable technology upgrade with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota’s i-Connect connected car platform, voice controls, a new digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, cruise control, multiple drive modes, PM2.5 air filtration, and an eight-speaker audio system. The interior also features soft-touch materials, 60:40 split rear seats, and tilt and telescopic steering to improve comfort for everyday driving.
Safety remains a key focus with the new Hilux offering seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, an impact-absorbing body structure, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), panoramic view monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.
Toyota will offer the Hilux in three variants—4X4 VX AT, 4X4 GX AT, and 4X2 GX AT—priced at Rs. 36.69 lakh, Rs. 33.69 lakh, and Rs. 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Customers can also choose from six exterior colours, including the newly introduced Sulphur Metallic and Ash, along with a range of genuine accessories for further personalization.
Commenting on the launch, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Chairman, Managing Director and CEO Masakazu Yoshimura said the all-new Hilux reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering reliable and dependable mobility solutions tailored to evolving customer expectations. Meanwhile, Deputy Managing Director Tadashi Asazuma noted that the new model has been developed to meet the growing demand for vehicles that combine utility, lifestyle appeal, and advanced technology.
